Pack Light, Live Loud: 6 Essentials I Never Travel Without
Iโve never been the โthree suitcases and a prayerโ type.
Give me a carry-on, a good playlist, and a purpose, and Iโm good to go.
But donโt get it twisted: just because I pack light doesnโt mean I travel shallow. In fact, Iโd argue that the less I bring physically, the more space I leave for soul work.
Whether itโs a business trip, solo reset, girlsโ getaway, or international adventure, Iโve learned that there are six essentials I never leave behind. They donโt just make travel smoother. They help me stay anchored, aligned, and present, no matter what timezone Iโm in.
Hereโs what always goes in the bag:
1. A Mini Journal
Because God speaks in airports too.
I donโt need a thick leather-bound journal or 45 gel pens. I just need a slim notebook I can throw in my bag, one thatโs ready when clarity strikes.
Something about travel opens my spirit. Maybe itโs the break in routine. Maybe itโs the new scenery. Or maybe itโs because planes and trains force me to sit still.
In those quiet in-between moments, waiting at a gate, sipping solo coffee, or staring out a hotel window, God speaks. Not always in full sentences, but in nudges. Insights. Gentle downloads.
Having a journal on hand lets me capture those moments. Not just the itinerary or food recommendations, but the internal shifts.
Travel is about movement. Journaling anchors the meaning.

2. Noise-Canceling Headphones
To block out chaos and tune into peace.
Listen, planes, trains, and people can be loud. Babies crying, announcements blaring, strangers arguing over seat assignments. Itโs sensory overload.
My noise-canceling headphones are a boundary I bring with me. They donโt just block noise, they create space. Space to breathe. To think. To tune into what I need, whether thatโs worship or soaking music, a favorite podcast, or the sound of nothing at all.
Theyโre my mobile sanctuary.
When the worldโs volume rises, I choose what I let in.
3. A Go-To Neutral Outfit
One that feels like me in any timezone.
I always pack one outfit that works anywhere. Not trendy. Not loud. Just effortless and aligned.
Itโs the outfit I wear when I need to feel grounded when Iโm presenting, navigating a new city solo, or just trying to feel a little more โmeโ after a long flight.
Hereโs the thing: clothing has energy. When you wear something that fits your vibe, your posture shifts. Your confidence steps forward. You donโt just walk into a room, you arrive.
For me, that go-to outfit is part style, part armor, part ritual.
4. Scripture Cards or Affirmations
Pocket-size reminders of who I am.
Thereโs something powerful about carrying truth with you.
I keep a small stack of cards, some with verses, others with handwritten affirmations, tucked into my wallet or passport pouch.
On the days when I feel untethered, when Iโm emotionally jet-lagged or spiritually off-center, these little cards recalibrate me.
โGod has not given me a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind.โ
โSo do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.โ
โYouโre exactly where you need to be.โ
โGodโs already in the place youโre heading.โ
Theyโre not props. Theyโre anchors.
5. A Portable Charger (Because Life Happens)
No power, No peace.
This oneโs practical and spiritual.
Thereโs nothing worse than being in a new city, trying to navigate, contact someone, or document a moment, only for your phone to die.
A portable charger is my way of staying ready.
It reminds me that preparation brings peace. That I donโt have to scramble when Iโve planned with intention. And that energy, literal or spiritual, needs to be replenished.
Donโt wait until youโre drained to recharge.
6. My Signature Scent
Because presence leaves an imprint.
Fragrance is memory. One whiff can transport you back to a place, a moment, a version of yourself.
I always pack my signature scent, not just to smell nice, but to feel like myself.
No matter where I am, that one spritz before I walk out the door reminds me: You are here. You are whole. You belong in this room.
Itโs not vanity. Itโs embodiment. And yes, presence has a scent.
Final Thought: Travel Light. Live Loud.
I donโt need five pairs of shoes. I donโt need โjust in caseโ extras that weigh me down.
What I do need are reminders of who I am, tools that keep me rooted, and space to receive the lessons every trip is trying to teach me.
So yeah, I pack light. But my bag? Itโs full of soul.
Travel light. Live fully. Collect soul stamps, not just passport ones.

Till next time,
